Space Charge Accumulation in Epoxy Based Magnesium Oxide and Boron Nitride Nanocomposites
نویسنده
چکیده
A phenomenon that is typical in dc insulation is the accumulation of space charge which can significantly enhance the local electric field. This phenomenon is of special importance for polymeric insulation. Accumulation of space charge proved to be a limiting factor for HVDC applications. The goal of this paper is to show the different behavior of epoxy nanocomposites under various dc field strengths. Base material for all samples is commercially available bisphenol-A epoxy resin. Filler materials are MgO and BN with average primary particle size of 22 respectively 20 nm. It is shown that MgO filled epoxy resin has superior space charge behavior.

Enhanced mechanical properties of epoxy nanocomposites by mixing noncovalently functionalized boron nitride nanoflakes.
The influence of surface modifications on the mechanical properties of epoxy-hexagonal boron nitride nanoflake (BNNF) nanocomposites is investigated. Homogeneous distributions of boron nitride nanoflakes in a polymer matrix, preserving intrinsic material properties of boron nitride nanoflakes, is the key to successful composite applications. Here, a method is suggested to obtain noncovalently f...

Five types of nanofillers, namely, silica, surface-silylated silica, alumina, surface-silylated alumina, and boron nitride, were tested in this study. Nanocomposites composed of an epoxy/amine resin and one of the five types of nanoparticles were tested as dielectrics with a focus on (i) the surface functionalization of the nanoparticles and (ii) the water absorption by the materials. متن کاملEnhancement of Fracture Toughness of Epoxy Nanocomposites by Combining Nanotubes and Nanosheets as Fillers
In this work the fracture toughness of epoxy resin has been improved through the addition of low loading of single part and hybrid nanofiller materials. Functionalised multi-walled carbon nanotubes (f-MWCNTs) was used as single filler, increased the critical strain energy release rate, GIC, by 57% compared to the neat epoxy, at only 0.1 wt% filler content. Importantly, no degradation in the ten...

The neutron collision cross-section is important in neutron use for a specific job, such as neutron therapy or even in nuclear reactors. In calculating computational codes such as MCNP, only information from the neutron-to-mass collision information contained in the computational code library is used, in the case of nanoscale particles in contrast to the mass of materials and / or particulate m...
